Walking and steps
The parikrama is about five kilometres on a paved path, and Gupt Godavari involves narrow passages and shallow water underfoot. Day 2 is long, with drives of about half an hour between the sites.
In the Ramayana, Chitrakoot is where Rama, Sita and Lakshmana spent years of their exile. The town lies across the border of Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, along the Mandakini river. This three-day stay begins with the evening aarti at Ram Ghat, gives a full day to the five-kilometre parikrama around Kamadgiri hill, Sphatik Shila, the Sati Anusuya Ashram and the caves of Gupt Godavari, and visits the well of Bharat Koop on the way out.

Devotees of Shri Ram and families who want the forest places of the Ramayana at a pace that allows the parikrama on foot.
The road from Prayagraj takes about three hours and from Satna about two, so arrivals after early afternoon can miss the evening aarti at Ram Ghat. Bharat Koop is about 20 km from the town, so the last morning needs a margin before a flight or train.
