Why a women-only departure
Some women prefer to travel with other women, whether alone, with a friend or with a mother or sister. Her Own Way by Tourmelloh offers women-only journeys with a female accompanying host, shaped by a female founder's understanding of what helps women feel at ease in a busy pilgrimage city: who meets you at the airport, where the hotel is, how evenings are spent and who is there if something feels wrong. The departures follow existing itineraries rather than inventing new ones, so the route, pacing and inclusions can be compared directly with the private versions of the same journeys.
The three departure templates
Three departure templates are planned. Varanasi Escape follows First Impressions of Varanasi with the approved hosted programme. The Sacred Confluence departure follows the Varanasi, Prayagraj and Ayodhya journey of the same name. The Bodh Gaya & Sarnath departure follows Awakening & the First Teaching. Each is a scheduled group departure with fixed start and end dates, not a flexible date picker, and dates appear only once the founder has approved them. Until then, each departure shows Dates coming soon, and you can register interest in future dates without any commitment and without making a payment of any kind.
What the female host does
The female accompanying host is part of the product, not an optional extra, and is included on every departure. Each departure states the host's exact coverage and language: which days and sessions she accompanies, what she helps with, and who to contact outside her sessions. Her role is companionship, pacing, logistics on the ground and a familiar face throughout, distinct from a sightseeing guide or security. Tourmelloh does not promise that every driver, guide or hotel employee will be a woman unless each role is confirmed. A female driver can be requested on private transport, and the preference is recorded and confirmed only where available.
Dates, minimums and what confirmed means
Each dated departure carries several separate facts: the exact date range, the minimum number of confirmed travellers, the maximum capacity, a confirmation deadline and a public status. The statuses are Dates coming soon, Open for enquiries, Minimum group pending, Departure confirmed, Full, Closed and Cancelled. A date can be approved while the departure is still waiting for its minimum group, and both facts are shown separately. Capacity and minimum numbers are set by the founder, never invented, and live seat counters are never shown. If tiers need different arrangements, the departure explains how the shared programme works.
Registering interest or sending an enquiry does not confirm a booking, and it does not count towards the minimum group size; only accepted bookings do. Tourmelloh confirms the departure and the complete price before asking for any booking payment. If a departure does not reach its minimum, it is not quietly turned into a private tour. A private journey can be offered separately, with a new quotation, if you would like one. That way you always know whether you are holding a place on a group departure or considering something different, and nothing changes without your agreement.
Rooms, tiers and pacing
Every departure states its room-sharing and single-room policy, so you know before enquiring whether you would share a twin room with another traveller or have a room to yourself. Offered tiers are listed per departure, and a confirmed group in one tier does not fill the minimum of a separate group in another. Pacing follows the parent itinerary with the hosted programme adjusted for a group: early mornings on the river, rest in the afternoons and evenings planned around the host's coverage. Dietary needs, language preferences and assistance requests are collected with your enquiry, so they shape the plan from the start.
How to enquire
On a departure with approved dates, use Enquire About This Departure and tell us your date flexibility, the number travelling, your preferred tier, your room preference and whether you would consider an alternative date. Where no date is yet approved, choose Register Interest in Future Dates instead. A WhatsApp message from the departure page is prefilled with its title and any approved dates, and you can edit it before sending; a message alone is not a submitted enquiry. Either way, nothing is booked and nothing is paid until you have read and accepted a complete quotation for your place.
