For larger parties, family groups or anyone who wants more space on the water, a private cruise charters a specific vessel for you alone. Depending on what is actually available for your date, this may be a covered boat with fixed seating or a larger licensed river-cruise vessel, moving along the ghats at an easy pace.
Everything is named before you book: the vessel and its category, the operator, the seating capacity, the boarding point, the duration and route, and exactly what is included, such as refreshments, a guide on board or the evening aarti viewed from the water. A ticket on a scheduled public cruise is a different product and is never described as private.
This cruise replaces the boat session it is mapped to in your journey, and any difference is shown in your quotation. River operations depend on the water level, local orders and the operator, and only a vessel actually confirmed for your date is offered.

- Walking: boarding points vary by vessel, and some involve steps or a gangway. Boarding conditions are confirmed in advance.
- Timing: typically one and a half to three hours, at sunrise, during the day or in the evening.
- Dress: layers for cool evenings and winter mornings, and modest dress near the ghats.
- Access: only confirmed vessels are offered, with photographs, capacity and operator details. Operations depend on the river.
